Training programme for initiation and improvement into goats artificial insemination and reproduction control
5 day course in France costing 1750 Euros, including Training fees, accommodation and meals from Monday till Friday (friday night not included)
Training Programme Includes:
1. Visit to the semen production center of CAPRI AI
2. Practical 1: on farm
- Equipment for insemination
- Insertion of the vaginal sponge

3. Presentation 1: Anatomy and physiology of genital tract
- Anatomy, physiology, observation of slides: tracts, ovaries, foliculs, females on pseudogestation
- Discussion
4. AI demonstration on farm
5. Presentation 2: Hormonal protocol for induction/synchronisation
- History of the methods to control goats reproduction, evolution of the protocols (P. BOUÉ)
- Principles of the hormonal protocol
- The protocol for hormonal treatment, theorical part: induction/synchronisation of oestrus/ovulation with a combined use of progestagene + PMSG:
- Progestagen : dose/duration
- PMSG (dose/duration/time of injection/recommendation)
- Variability of time of estrus and PMSG antibodies
- Improvement of hormonal treatment
6. Presentation 3: The french selection programme for genetic improvement of dairy goats
7. Video Presentation: hormonal treatment and artificial insemination in goats herds
8. Practical 2: on farm
- Sponge removal
- Insemination
9. Presentation 4: Alternative methods to control the sexual cycle combined with AI
