The Mother of All Colostrum Products - for customer comments click here

Calf’s Choice Total™ (“CCT”) is a family of dried bovine colostrum products used to replace or supplement maternal colostrum.

· All products achieve minimum performance benchmarks for true colostrum replacers, as proven in both lab and field testing.

Two Important Reasons to Use CCT?

1. To Prevent Failure of Passive Transfer (“FPT”):

CCT aids in the treatment of FPT, a condition resulting from insufficient immunoglobulins (the portion of colostrum that contains the protective antibodies) being passed from mother to calf after birth. FPT may lead to serious calf heath issues early in life, including scours and pneumonia, and lost productivity later in life. Potential economic losses from FPT include:

· Higher calf death rates;
· Higher disease and treatment rates;
· Decreased average daily gain at 180 days1;
· Decreased milk/fat productivity at 1st lactation2;
· Later age at 1st calving; higher culling rates3.

A U.S. research study showed that 41% of dairy calves had serum immunoglobulin (“Ig”) levels less than 10 grams per liter, and thus suffered from FPT. 4 Even under good management conditions, it is believed that 25% of calves do not receive adequate levels of colostrum.

2. To Help Break the Disease Cycle:

· CCT can help stop the transmission of dangerous diseases from mother to calf (e.g. Johne’s, Bovine Leukosis Virus, Salmonella, Staphylococcus aureus (mastitis), Leptospira and others);
· Help prevent the spread of disease organisms that contaminate maternal colostrum, storage containers and the environment.

CCT Product Features

Safe
· CCT products are manufactured using a proprietary heat treatment process that kills bacteria, yet preserves critical immune factors, nutrients and growth factors;
· Superior quality assurance program ensures product consistency.

Potent
· 100 to 120 grams of Bovine Immunoglobulin (“IgG”) per dose with IgG concentrations ≥ 50 g/L at feeding;
· Contains high levels of antibodies to fight the common causes of scours and pneumonia.

Convenient
· Less labour intensive than collecting, labeling, freezing, and thawing maternal colostrum (ideal for “late night calvings”);
· Lightweight, stable, well protected foil packages; no cold storage requirements.

Nutritionally Balanced and Complete
· Provides extra energy for calves born in cold weather;
· Rich in fat, fatty acids, fat soluble vitamins (A,D,E,K) and other key nutrients;
· Rich in key growth factors (epidermal and insulin-like).

Proven Effective
· Calves proven to have ≥ 10 g / L of serum IgG on average, the minimum serum level required to prevent FPT. Research data available.
